records on 7/31/03 by Don West indicated there are no approved water permits for the
Jesse Lee Mine site. The Jesse Lee Mine is currently bonded for the cost of backfilling
any exposed groundwater and the Division holds a Letter of Credit bond in the amount of
$16,000.
3. We aze attempting to obtain information regarding pit operations, crushing operations,
and operational and permit history. DMG Response -There aze no explicit provisions
for crushing of stockpiled, aggregate materials in the approved mining plan, although
crushing maybe implied as the Division has considered this site as a construction
materials site since October 1995. The operator does reference processing of stockpiles
in the 2001 Annual Report received July 5, 2002. The permit specifies the use of a
shaker sluice box for processing of excavated materials; that the'/< to 1.5 inch and'/4-inch
minus aggregate materials will be stockpiled separately for possible sale and use by
Pridemore Construction, Inc.; and that all materials in excess of 1.5 inch will be returned
at a future date and placed on the excavated slopes for slope protection (riprap) and
decoration of the site. It is the Division's understanding that excavation at the site is
nearly complete and the site is partially reclaimed. The following is a history of
permitting actions:
6/28/84 110(2) Limited Impact Permit issued to Pridemore Construction, Inc.
3/08/99 Jeffrey Pridemore requested temporazy cessation status
3/12/99 DMG approved 15` 5-year terns of temporary cessation (7/15/98-7/14/03)
8/27/99 DMG approved permit transfer from Pridemore to Kerr & Son Trucking
7/09/02 DMG approved Ken's request to change status of pit to active
We hope that you find this information helpful and that we have addressed your
questions. Please ]et us know if you need further information or have additional
questions.
Sincerely,
Thomas A.
