NOTICE <br />This publication constitutes notice of the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation <br />Division's proposed decision approving an application for a permit to conduct <br />coal mining under the provisions of the Colorado Surface Coal Mining <br />Reclamation Act of 2979. The application was submitted by National King <br />Coal, Inc., P.O. Box 2905, Durango, Colorado 81301. <br />The area which will be subject to surface mining activities by National <br />King Coal's King Coal Mine is located approximately seven (7) miles south <br />west of Hesperus, Colorado, along LaPlata County Road 120. The legal <br />descriptions of the proposed permit area and existing B.L.M. coal leases <br />are as follows: <br />Lease No. C-29125 (I80 acres) <br />Section 31: N~'/NE'a© SE'a <br />Section 32: SW'a Nr1 <br />Lease No. P-058300 (160 acres) <br />Section 31: SE'aNE'a <br />Section 32: SE'aNWa, W'~NW'a <br />R11 contained in T35N, RI1W, N.M.P.M. <br />Two stipulations have been included in this approval to ensure environ- <br />mental protection by the surface coal mining operation. Copies of the <br />proposed decision, including both stipulations, can be obtained from the <br />Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Division, Room 423, Centennial Building, <br />1313 Sherman Street, L~nver, Colorado 80203. Any person with an interest <br />which is or may be adversely affected by the proposed decision may request <br />a formal hearing before the Mined Land Reclamation Board. Such request <br />must be made by March 25, 1982, be in writing, and state with reasonable <br />specificity the reason for the request and objections to the proposed <br />decision. <br />
