Mined Land Reclamation Division
December 29, 1981
Page 3
In conclusion, we estimate that up to 75.5 of of tributary water will
be intercepted and consumed during the first year of mine life at our
Keenesburg Mine. It is anticipated that the quantity will diminish to
about 35.5 of in succeeding years because of dewatering effects. The actual
amount of water removed from the pit will be measured and that quantity used
to verify our original estimates. A report will be provided to the State
Engineer on or before June 1, 1982, providing a revised estimate of initial
year inflows based upon actual measurements before that time. Anticipated
inflows and exchange quantities for each subsequent year will be provided
in a report of previous year inflow measurement to the State Engineer on
February 1. The 25.4 of of annual non-tributary returns will be deducted
from the measured pit inflows.
If you have additional questions about the above noted information,
please call me at 277-2844.
Sincerely,,,
~~~~//
Neil G. Jaq et, Manager
Water Resource Operations
/mb
