<br />MANAGEMENT <br />Stanley Dempsey has been in the mining business for more <br />than twenty-five years. He started his career as a small <br />mine operator, He joined AMAX in 1960 as an engineer, He <br />held various engineering, legal and operating jobs within <br />AMAX, including Division Attorney - Western Operations, <br />Di[ector of Environmental Affairs, Vice President of AMAX <br />Exploration, Inc.,, Senior Vice President of Climax Molybdenum <br />Company. He was elected as Vice President of AMAX Inc. in <br />1977, and was Chairman of AMAX Australia Limited from 1981 to <br />1983. He was on leave of absence from AMAX Inc. from <br />1983 to 1986, and practiced law as a partner of the <br />Washington, D.C. and Denver firm of Arnold & Porter during <br />that period. <br />Ed Peiker entered the mining business in 1954 upon <br />graduation from thca Colorado School of Mines, He has worked <br />for Republic Steel, Utah International and AMAX Inc. on a <br />permanent basis and has consulted with and for a variety of <br />oil and mineral firms. During the period 1958-1966 he was an <br />assistant professor in the College of Engineering at the <br />University of Colorado. During this period, he pursued <br />advanced studies at both the University and at the Colorado <br />School of Mines. <br />He joined Climaax Molybdenum division of AMAX in 1966 and <br />spent the time period until 1983 in mineral resource <br />evaluation.
