You
requested information regarding the status of reclamation at the site. Reclamation, as per the
approved permit application, is not yet complete. Sediment ponds must be removed and,
pending resolution of concerns with ownership and retention of facilities, there may be work
required in the northern area of the site. The approved plan is available for your review at the
Division office, Sun Coal Company's Wheat Ridge office, or at Dan Ellison's office in
Steamboat Springs.
You also requested additional information on recent Mined Land Reclamation Board meetings
regarding rule making. I have enclosed a copy of the public notice issued by the Division. The
meeting was held as scheduled, and the proposed changes were approved. It is our
understanding that the notice and a copy of the proposed changes were mailed to you.
If you have questions or need additional information, please contact me.
Sincerely,
di'~ '
Susan L Burgmaier
Environmental Protection Specialist
Enclosure
c: Bryan Archer, Sun Coal Company
STATE OF COLORADO
SLD\033197.
