The
most recent statement was completed on 9-18-87, nearly nine years
ago. The previous statement was completed eighteen years ago. I am
concerned that there has been no recent mined land wildlife
statement/evaluation completed for the requested operations and
amendments.
The previous recommendations included the reclamation to include
backfilling to be arranged into various sized ponds having undulating
shore lines and the creating of some shallow water shoals. The most
recent reclamation plan for this area shows that 42,25 acres will be
backfilled to create one large lake of 42 surface acres.
There are already several large ponds and lakes in the area, The
creation of additional "wetland" type habitats in the backfilled area
would be of great benefit to wildlife and has been the Division of
Wildlife's recommendation for nearly two decades.
Thank you for the opportunity to comment on this proposal.
SincerelyC~~' ^ ~ ' y.
-~,
_., ,~ ~;t,.,,
_ l . 111
;~`.
ohnny F.
