Item 2) Stand Alone Estimates
a) TR-32. ['m not sure if you have previously done an estimate for U»s revision or not. Items which
would have affected reclamation costs include conswction and riprap installation of the proposed new
upper permanent diversion, reclamation of the existing upper diversion, installation of concrete
wingwalls at the upper dip section, and riprap installation along specified segments of the Coal Creek
permanent diversion, below the dip section. Presumably, rock in the current series of four drop
structures along the channel could be used for the riprap specified in TR-32, since those stmctures are
[o be removed during final reclamation of the channel segment.
~t~xd{
b) TR-33. Pertinent Costs here would III costs associated with installation of the angled drill hole and de-
wateringpipes, including pad conswcuon, drilling costs, pipe, and trenching. Also, costs for topsoil
salvage and replacement, regrading and revegetation.
c) TR-35. This revision included modifications to Ute final grading and drainage reconstruction plans for
the South Portal and North Portal Facilities areas. The SouUt Portal Area modifications included plans
for installation of french drains, and significant modifications to permanent drainage cltarmels,
including rip-mp installation in various locations. An additional soil bonow area was established
upgradient from Ure South Portal area, to be used as a source for Roadside Refuse Area cover naterial.
Cost estimate should assume Urat the refuse area cover and topsoil will come from this new location,
supplemented by material from lower parking area iC necessary. Volume should be based on required
cover tltickness of 12 inches, plus topsoil Uiickness of 6 inches for Roadside Refuse Area. Cost item
003 of the mid-term estimate would be affected. Costs for topsoiling and revegetating the borrow area
will also need to be included. At the NorUt Portal facilih~ area, a new sediment pond was approved for
the reclaimed topogmplty, for wlriclt reclatttation costs will need to be assigned.
Item 3) "Actual Estimate" wish tasks removed that are no longer needed. Items listed below are
reclamation tasks that were included as task items in either the RN-03 estimate, the mid-term estimate, or
both, but "are no longer needed" because the relevant reclamation work Itas been performed. Note,
however, that no bond release has been approved for Ute subject areas.
a) Mid-term estimate items associated with SouUt Fan Reclamation (006, 007, 008, 009, 037). v
b) Regrade South Lease Exploration Roads (mid-term item 021).
c) Regrade Treasure Island Storage Yard, Ponds 1 and 2 (mid-term item 009). /
d) Replace topsoil to CBA-t (mid-term item 046)
e) Seal all portals and shafts (mid-term item 052) Cameo Portals have been sealed and backfilled, as has
South Fan. Roadside manvvay portal and conveyor portal have both been sealed, but not backfilled
~ (. '"~ (see comment under Item 1, above).
,,, ,~ f) From mid-term task 90b, demolition work, Ute following items have been performed: Demolish SouUt
Fan; North Decline Area treatment building and Misc. Equipment and Materials; North Portal
Facilities shop building, Storage Yard nailer and Storage Yard building.
~ g) Backfill NoNt Decline Area (RN-03 Item A.6). /
h) 2 Wesl Portals and Roads (RN-03 Item K.SI).
i) Import LII for South Fan shaft (RN-03 Item P.4a)./
r
~j" Additional modifications Utat might need to be included in Ute "actual estimate" pertain to the quantip~ of
V``~yE wver material and topsoil required for CRDA-I and CRDA-2. Quantity in the mid-term estimate was
~ ~..~+' based on volume associated with 3 foot subsoil cover depUr and 1 foot topsoil deptlr, (total non-tonic cover
wi '~ I thickness of 4 feet) which was al one lime required. Currently required subsoil cover depth is 12 inches for
y~ I
~,~ . .
~3
