The cross-section enclosed has been reduced from the
original copy size, making it somewhat less legible; if you need to review
the full--size cross-section, it is available at Division offices during
business hours. Basically, the operator proposes to mine several ore
zones from the Phil Sheridan Tunnel, and hoist the ore to the surface
through 1.he new shaft. It is the Division's intention to require the
operator to report any significant ground water inflows to the workings
so that .s ground water quantity and quality monitoring program can be
implemented if necessary. It is my understanding the operator is
preparing an application for a permit to cover existing discharges from
the Phil Sheridan Tunnel. Discharge permits are issued by the Colorado
Department of Public Health and Environment, Water Quality Control
Division.
If you would like to comment on the enclosed technical revision
application, please provide your comments, in writing, by January 8, 1995.
If you have any questions, or if I may be of further assistance, please
call me.
Sincerel}~,
j/
Allen C.
