1111111111111111111
BASIN
RESOURCES, ~N~.
a subsidiary of ENTECH, Inc.
Mr. Joseph Dudash
Division of Minerals and Geology
1313 Sherman, Room 215
Denver, CO 80203
RE: Violation Abatement Work
Dear Mr. Dudash:
14300 Highway 12
Weslon, Colorado 81091
(719)868-2761
FAX (719)868-2275
October 15, 1993
~?!':~r
7CT 1 g ?993
As we discussed on the phone today, our contractor has pulled
out of our mine area. Due to a case of vandalism, Febbraro
Construction Company will no longer work at our mine sites. This
has left us without a dirt contractor available to continue and
complete various projects which involve violation abatement.
On Friday October 8, Febbraro's crew discovered that their
equipment had been vandalized over night. The backhoe had
hydraulic hoses cut, the radiator had holes punched through, the
starter had been damaged, and all the glass had been broke. Other
equipment at the same location had their windows broke out as well.
The equipment was parked in a fenced area North of the guard shack.
In a discussion with Joe Febbraro, he informed me that he
would not be willing to continue working for Basin at the mine
sites. He felt that there was a chance of further vandalism or
damage. He did not want to run the risk of losing more equipment.
He therefore felt that it is his own best interest to discontinue
his work here. He has pulled all his equipment from the mine.
I am in the process of locating a replacement for Febbraro
Construction. As yet all contractors contacted are committed to
other projects. These commitments continue through the following
weeks. A couple of contractors have expressed an interest in
obtaining work at the mines and would be available soon. I am
continuing my search for a contractor. Abatement remediation work
will resume immediately upon identification of a capable
contractor.
