Long
Division Direclnr
Attached please find a memorandum from Dan Mathews regarding an exposed pre-law mine
opening at the Farmers Mine (Fruita Mine area). Based upon the information presented by Dan, the
referenced opening is a pre-1977 feature, and we request that remediation work occurs as soon as
possible, using IMP funds. We prefer that because this opening is a pre-law feature, Fruita mine
bond money not be used.
The site is accessible to the public and I am concerned that an imminent hazard to public health and
safety exists at this time. Your help is very much appreciated.
Cc: Larry Routten
Paul Krabacher
Dan Mathews
STATE OF COLOl~vO
M:\ossURC\Farmer Minr Ato doc
