Uepr. of .Natural P,eso~~rcec <br />This publication constitutes notice of the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation <br />Division's proposed decision approving an application fora permit to <br />conduct underground coal mining activities under the provisions of the <br />Colorado Surface Coal Mining Reclamation Act of 1979. The application was <br />submitted by Salt Creek Mining Company, Drawer "L", Fruita, Colorado 81521-0689 <br />for the Munger Canyon Mine. The effective date of this decision is October 14, <br />1982. <br />The area to be mined is located in Munger Canyon in Garfield County, approxi- <br />mately 20 miles north of Loma, Colorado along Highway 139. The coal to be <br />mined and surface to be disturbed is owned by the U.S. Government. Also in- <br />cluded in the permit is a rail loadout near Loma, Colorado. <br />Nineteen stipulations have been included in this approval to ensure environ- <br />mental protection by the surface coal mining operation. Copies of the <br />proposed decision, including all stipulations, are available for inspection <br />at the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Division, Room 423, Centennial <br />Building, 1313 Sherman Street, Denver, Colorado 80203, (303) 866-3567. A <br />copy is also on file at the office of the Garfield County Clerk at the Garfield <br />County Courthouse in GTenwood Springs, Colorado, and at the Mesa County Clerk's <br />Office in Grand Junction, Colorado. Any person with an interest which may be <br />adversely affected by the proposed decision may request a formal hearing before <br />the Mined Land Reclamation Board on the proposed decision. Such a request must <br />be made by October 13, 1982, be in writing, and state with reasonable <br />specificity the reasons for the request and the objections to the proposed <br />decision. <br />
