Long <br />RE: Open Records Act Request -Pittsburgh & Midway Coal Company, Edna Mine Division Director <br />Dear Ms. Etelson: <br />This letter is in response to your June 7, 2000 request under the Open Records Act. <br />Pages 2.7-26 from the Edna Mine permit application discuss the baseline elk <br />habitat within the mine and adjacent azeas. Pages 4.7-1-2 discuss the fish and <br />wildlife management plan for the Edna mine site. <br />2. Please see the information reference in 1. Above. No additional studies or reports <br />have been submitted to this agency reflecting the monitoring of the success of the <br />elk protection mitigation measures. <br />3. Pittsburgh & Midway Coal Company has operated the Edna Mine under Permit <br />No. C-80-001 since October 29, 1981. Prior to that date, P&M Coal Mining <br />Company operated under Permit 74-31-CA. <br />4. The Division of Minerals and Geology has no documents reflecting Chevron's <br />acquisition of P&M Coal Company. <br />5. Documents indicating the current ownership of the P&M Coal Company aze <br />found on pages 3.7-4 -3.7-6 of the permit application. <br />The referenced pages from the permit application have been attached for your <br />information.
