Shelton
Director, Mined Land Reclamation Division
423 Centennial Building
1313 Sherman St.
Denver, CO 80203
Dear Mr. Shelton:
SEP 2 9 1996
I would like to bring another problem to your attention concerning our
Fremont County property that GEC Minerals, Inc, had leased from us.
It has just come to my attention that GEC gave permission to Wyoming
Fuel Company to perform considerable exploration drilling on our proper-
ty in 1979. Despite the fact that GEC's lease did not give GEC the
right to permiC Wyoming Fuel to drill and that The Corley Company was
not asked for any assignment or other permission, many holes were
drilled. I have seen many of the drill areas in the past, thinking that
GEC had performed the work. Only after seeing the drill hole reports
and maps from Wyoming Fuel two days ago was I made aware of the correct
drilling company.
There has been little or no reclamation of the drilling sites including
roads, drilling ponds, and cuttings.
My question is did Wyoming Fuel comply with the Colorado reclamation
requirements in 1979 prior to performing the drilling? Should Wyoming
Fuel or GEC perform the reclamation required?
Sincerely,.
~~ /~
W.D. Corley, J
President
