resources on the affected land. Deer have been known to frequent <br />cornfields on the property and in the vicinity and pheasants sometimes <br />build nests in irrigation ditches. There are no known threatened or <br />endangered species on the site. There is no known critical habitat for <br />special status species within four miles of the site. The impact from <br />mining activities is expected to be similar to the impact from farming <br />activities on the site in terms of human activity and machine use. The <br />proposed operation will not impact existing wildlife, including migratory <br />routes and food sources. <br />4. With respect to vegetation, the site is currently used to produce pinto <br />beans, Coors barley, alfalfa hay and corn. According to information <br />provided by the landowner, the property currently yields approximately <br />2,000 Ibs/acre pinto beans, ] 10 bushels/acre Coors barley, 6 tons/acre <br />alfalfa hay and 190 bushels/acre corn. <br />5. With respect to climate, the Applicant has provided information on <br />average monthly maximum temperature, minimum temperature, <br />precipitation and snowfall for Montrose County. <br />6. The weight of the evidence demonstrates that the Applicant has met the <br />minimum requirements of Construction Materials Rules 6.4.8, 6.4.10 and <br />6.4.11. <br />M.
