SNELTON, Dlrsctor
September 12, 1986
Ruth Swisher
2701 West Avenue
Burlington, Iowa 52601
Re: Foidel Creek Life of Mine Permit Revision, File No. C-82-056
Dear Ms. Swisher:
We received your letter dated September 8, 1986 requesting maps and additional
information regarding Twentymile Coal Company's (TCC) Life of Mine Permit
Application.
I have xeroxed a portion of the mine plan map (Attachment 1) from the
application which shows that TCC does not propose to mine within the 80 acre
parcel which you own in the W 1/2 NE 1/4 Section 20, T5N, R86W. TCC may
anticipate modifying their plan if they acquire the property, but the plan as
currently proposed does not include mining in that area.
You also indicated that you own land in the NW 1/4 Section 25 (no township and
range designation provided) and SE 1/4 Section 28. The SE 1/4 Section 28,
T5N, R86W is outside of the proposed permit area and would not be mined under
this permit. The land ownership map in the application indicates that land in
Section 25, T5N, R87W is owned by Bogle Farms. Mining is proposed in the NW
1/4 Section 25, T5N, R87W. If the application is not corect, and you are the
owner of land in NW 1/4 Section 25, T5N, R87W, rather than Bogle Farms, you
may wish to submit written comments regarding interests you have which may be
adversely affected by the proposed operation.
For the small amount of copying we did, the E3.00 you submitted was not
necessary and is being returned to you. If you would like entire copies of
land ownership, coal ownership or mine plan maps, we could have them copied,
and the copier would bill you directly. The cost would be E1.25 per square
foot and each map is roughly 18 sq. ft.
Please let me know if you want this done, or if you have further questions or
comments.
Sincere ~~
Dan Mathews
Reclamation Specialist
DM/vj r
Enclosure(s)
cc: Richard Mills, Twentymile Coal Company
3633E
423 Centennial Building, 1313 Sherman Street Denver, Colorado 80203 Tel.
