Introduction <br />This document is a reissuance and update of the findings document originally <br />prepared by the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Division (Division) dated <br />February 4, 1982, for the King Coal Mine, located in La Plata County, <br />Colorado: Modifications to the original permit in the areas of bonding, <br />revegetation, reclamation standards, and surface water hydrology, and <br />modifications to the CHIA to incorporate additional operations which were not <br />included have been addressed and incorporated into this document: <br />This document is based on information from the original application; the <br />renewal application and the adequacy review responses; and contains the <br />following items: <br />1) A summary which includes a description of the Division's review <br />process for the operation. <br />2) A description of the existing environmental conditions. <br />3) A description of the operation and reclamation plan: <br />4) The written findings of compliance that the Division is required to <br />make pursuant to the Colorado Surface Coal Mining Reclamation Act <br />of 1979. <br />Detailed information about the mining and reclamation operations can be found <br />in the permit application for Permit No: C-81-035. This public record is <br />maintained by the Division at Room 423; 1313 Sherman Street, Denver; Colorado, <br />or can be found at the La Plata County Courthouse; 1060 East Second Avenue, <br />Durango; Colorado. <br />-1- <br />
