LOng <br />Divivon Dnenor <br />Idaho Springs, Colorado 80452 <br />RE: Bald Eagle Mill, Permit No. M-79-011 HR - Approval t:o Import <br />Cross Mine Ore for Processing in the Mill <br />Dear Mr. Widhalm: <br />On June 24, 1994, it was determined that the necessary <br />characterization of the Cross Mine ore with respect to its milling <br />at the Bald Eagle Mill has been completed and submitted to the <br />Division. The Division approves the processing of Cross Mine ore <br />at the Bald Eagle Mill with the following conditions: <br />1. Tailings samples are collected immediately after the first <br />of the Cross mine ore is run through the mill and every 1000 <br />tons of ore processed through the mill. The samples will be <br />analyzed for the same parameters as those in the ore <br />characterization analyses. Analytical results must be <br />received by the Division within 5 days of receipt by the <br />operator. <br />2. If any ore is anticipated to be stockpiled for more than <br />180 days on the site, representative samples shall be <br />collected from the pile and acid-base accouni:ing and <br />accelerated weathering tests will be performed on the=_ samples <br />and results submitted to the Division within 5 days of receipt <br />of the results. <br />3. The Bald Eagle Mill may be used as a custom mi1:L for the <br />next 6 months (until December 31, 1994) after which time <br />Virginia Canyon Joint Venture must have in place a Certificate <br />of Designation Permit from Clear Creek County and the Colorado <br />Department of Health. <br />4. If any other ore will be processed through the mill, <br />similar characterizations as required for the Cross Mine ore <br />must be done and approval must be obtained from the Division <br />
