A gravel pit well permit and the $60.00 fee will be <br />submitted after the substitute supply plan is approved. <br />PROJECT DESCRIPTION <br />The Loveland Pit property is located in Larimer County neaz the intersection of Highway 402 <br />and LCR 13 southeast of the City of Loveland. The Big Thompson River flows along the <br />southern boundary of the site. The site is located in the SE '/< of Section 24, Township 5 North, <br />Range 69 West, 6'" P.M. Figure No. 1 is a vicinity map of the Loveland Pit site. <br />The mining of the Loveland Pit will be completed in three phases and last approximately 10 <br />yeazs. Phase lwill involve the azea located east of LCR 13 and last approximately 3 yeazs. When <br />Phase 1 is complete, the reclamation plan calls for the pit to be filled with the overburden <br />excavated during mining. Phases 2 and 3 shift mining operations to west side of LCR 13. The <br />reclamation plan for Phases 2 and 3 will create two small groundwater lakes. The mining phases <br />for the Loveland Pit are shown in Figure 2. <br />The mining operation will intercept the alluvial aquifer that supplies the Big Thompson River. <br />The site will be dry mined. Prior to mining, a dewatering trench will be excavated azound the <br />perimeter of the site.
