• On August 1, 2007, Mountain Coal Company L.L.C. published a newspaper notice in the <br />Delta County Independent notifying the public of CO-DRMS' proposed decision. No <br />public comments were received. <br />The CO-DRMS determined that an additional $168,885.00 for the reclamation of the <br />Deer Creek shaft is necessary and that a total bond for $13,878,962.00 is adequate for the <br />total reclamation of Colorado Permit C-1980-007 associated with this mining plan. <br />CO-DRMS currently holds a bond for $14,000,000.00. The bond is payable to the State <br />and the United States of America. <br />A chronology of events related to the processing of the PAP and this mining plan decision <br />is included with the decision document. The information in the PAP, and other <br />information identified in the decision document, has been reviewed by CO-DRMS staff <br />in coordination with the OSM Federal Lands State Coordinator. <br />OSM's administrative record of this mining plan modification consists of the following: <br />- the PAP submitted by Mountain Coal Company L.L.C., and updated through <br />July 24, 2007, <br />- the Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety's Proposed Decision <br />• for Technical Revision No. 109 at the West Elk Mine, <br />- a summary of the Final Environmental Impact Statement entitled, Deer Creek <br />Shaft and E Seam Methane Drainage Wells Project, prepared by the U.S. Forest <br />Service with OSM as a cooperating agency, and <br />-correspondence developed during the review of the PAP. <br />Attachments <br /> <br />
