PLANTING AND SEEDING METHODS <br />- Majority of permanent reclamation done by broadcast <br />- Shrub and woody plant seedlings had planted <br />- Native hay or straw mulch at a rate of 2 tons (4000 lbs.) per <br />acre on all reclaimed areas <br />V. IRRIGATION <br />- None proposed <br />VI. REVEGETATION SUCCESS CRITERIA <br />- With the exception of the San Juan National Forest access road, <br />all areas will be reclaimed to meet the standards of native <br />communities <br />- Revegetation success will be judged by utilizing reference areas <br />for disturbances within mixed brush-conifer, sparse <br />pinyon-juniper, and riparian areas. <br />- Revegetated area success for cover and production will be <br />weighted average of sparse pinyon-juniper and mixed <br />brush-conifer reference area values. <br />- Areas within the riparian community will be judged according to <br />direct comparison with the riparian reference area for cover, <br />production,and woody plant density. <br />- The woody plant density standard shall be 1000 stems/acre for <br />disturbed areas which were originally mixed brush-conifer or <br />sparse pinyon-juniper community. Woody plant density for the <br />riparian area will be based on riparian reference area data. <br />- Species diversity criteria shall be the following: <br />Mixed Brush-Conifer Riparian <br />Sparse Pinyon-Juniper <br />4 cool season grasses* 3 cool season grasses* <br />2 warm season grasses 1 forb <br />2 shrubs 1 shrub <br />*With no single species representing greater than 40% <br />relative cover or less than 3% relative cover. <br />- The permittee will develop and submit for Division approval <br />a biannual revegetation monitoring plan for the Revision <br />No. 2 area. <br />
