The Corley Company
Phone fi32~5080 P O Box 1821
COLORADO SPRING B,COLO RADO 80901
Aug. 26, 1993
iii iiiiiiiiiiiuiii
~r_~,FIVF_D
AUG 271993
Mr. Michael B. Long
Division of Minerals b Geology
1313 Sherman St.
Denver CO 80203
Dear Mr. Long:
„ ,,.~~~c~~~,:,auccln9Y
I quickly looked at the bid schedule page submitted and awarded to Phil
Kessler for the GEC reclamation project during the Board meeting
yesterday. I told the Board that his bid was $18,000 for the Harrison
Western part of the the project. I was completely wrong because that
part of the award is in excess of $29,000. That amount is over $10,500
more than the $18,500 paid by Harrison Western for the same tasks.
Since the above bid exceeds the amount paid by Harrison Western by so
much, we believe that there should be a change made in the plans for the
West pit area. We believe that the West pit pond should be removed
rather than cleaned out and that the West pit diversion should be
eliminated. That would leave the main task of the Magpie Creek
diversion to be completed for $10,000 plus some extra for minimal pond
reclamation in order to keep the project in line with the Harrison
Western monies. We simply note at this time that the tipple pond is
going to be removed prior to revegetation, and that the West pit has
been revegetated making pond removal more justified.
Sincerely,
~~ I
W.D. Corley, r.
President
