Dear Elisabeth:
In response to.your letter of November 26, 2003 referencing Mechanical Integrity for Wells
20-14, 20-02, 20-11 & 21-15 American Soda has developed the following plans:
20-14 (EPA Permit Number CO3858-04599)
Injection was discontinued on August 27, 2003. This well is in the process of being
depressurized. Plugging and Abandonment of this well, in accordance with Part II, E. and
Appendix C of UIC Permit CO3858-00000 will be completed during the first quarter of 2004.
20-02 (EPA Permit Number CO3858-04597)
Injection was discontinued on September 05, 2003. This well will be depressurized and
Plugged and Abandoned in accordance with Part II, E. and Appendix C of UIC Permit
CO3858-00000 during the first quarter of 2004.
21-15 (EPA Permit Number CO3858-04564)
Injection was discontinued on September 26, 2003. This well is being depressurized and will
be Plugged and Abandoned during the first quarter of 2004.
20-11 (EPA Permit Number CO3858-04537) -Injection was discontinued on September 26,
2003. This well will be held on stand by until 20-12, 20-15, 20-14 and 20-02 have been
depressurized and Plugged and Abandoned. This well will be tested for Mechanical Integrity at
that time and a determination made as to whether to request permission to re-inject into this
well or to proceed with Plugging and Abandonment of the well.
