Dept. of Natural Resources <br />This plant materials trial is being carried out in cooperation <br />between the Robinson Brick Company and the USDA Soil Conserva- <br />tion Service, Castle Rock Field Office. This plant materials <br />field planting is planned to give Robinson Brick Company and <br />the SCS information on grasses, forbs, shrubs and trees best <br />suited to stabilize steep active clay mining sites and to re- <br />claim old clay pit sites. <br />This field planing will be located at two locations - The Hog- <br />back Mine in northwestern Douglas County and the Ute Mine <br />located on Highway 105 north of Sedalia, Colorado. (See attached <br />location maps). <br />II. Planting Plan <br />A. Fertilizing <br />The following fertilizers xi11 be applied at time of <br />planting and supplied by Robinson Brick Company. <br />B. Shrubs and Trees (Hogback Mine) <br />One agriform 20-10_5 slow release pellet! with each <br />shrub and tree. <br />C. Grasses (Hogback Mine) <br />20-10-5 was broadcast at time of planting 1.5N Active <br />N per 1,000 Sq. Ft. followed early August by additional <br />ld/Active per 1,000 Sq. Ft. <br />2-3-4- years 2N/Active N per 1,000 sq. ft. annually. <br />D.
