Eong <br />Diviswn Director <br />The Division of Minerals and Geology received your notification of 1.he temporary mining <br />cessation status for the Eagle 5&9 Mines (C-81-044). Under Rule 4.30.1 of the Regulations <br />of the Colorado Mined Land Board for Coal Mining the following items must be addressed <br />in the temporary cessation notification to the Division; <br />1. The exact number of surface acres and the horizontal and vertical extent of <br />subsurface strata which have been affected in the permit area prior to cessation or <br />abandonment. Map 24 titled, E Seam Workings: 5 Year Pr 'ec ion revised April <br />1995, is the most recent map delineating the area mined to date. Please update this <br />map if necessary. <br />2. The extent and kind of reclamation of surface area which will have been <br />accomplished through the date of cessation or abandonment. <br />3. Identification of the backfilling, regrading, revegetation, environmental monitoring, <br />underground opening closures and water treatment activities that continue during the <br />temporary cessation. Any changes to the monitoring schedule must be submitted and <br />approved by the Division. <br />4. A brief description of the circumstances surrounding the temporary cessation of <br />operations and anticipated date for resumption of operations, if known. <br />
