MANAGEMENT
My letter to the DMG dated January 2, 1997 notified the DMG that mining ceased at the
Bowie No. 1 Mine on December 4, 1997. The letter went on to state the mine was in
temporary cessation. The underground mine is still idle and may continue to be idle for
a number on months. However, the train loadout is in operation and is expected to be in
operation for many years. Therefore, the mine may not actually be in a temporary
cessation status.
Please advise as to the DMG's interpretation of the status of the mine and if further
reporting will be required under Rule 4.30.1(2).
Please call if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
~~~/~
J.
