(IV-20) ~ • <br /> <br />Add a wetting agent to amine formulations (6 fluid ozs per 100 gals of spray <br />solution). Use encugh volume to completely wet the foliage, 50 to 100 gallons <br />or more per acre on dense stands. Repeated applications of 2,4-D is most practi- <br />cal for elimination of large infestations, compared with the more costly herbi- <br />cides, or in cropland areas where isolation or sterilization is not desirable. <br />The more soil persistent herbicides, Banvel, 2,3,6-TBA and Tordon at <br />recommended rates, will eradicate a high percentage of Canada thistle with one <br />' application:" However, these materials will persist in the soil. for two or more <br />years; their persistence will vary, also, how long or how much they will elimi- <br />nate crop production will vary. There is also a difference in effect on grass <br />species.
