grass species exceeded 40 percent relative cover but four perennial grass species ()}, <br />~i gam, A. smithii, ~t~jy~, p. ratencic) and one perennial forb (A. cicer) <br />did combine for a total of about 87 percent relative cover. This exceeded the standazd <br />of four perennial grass and one perennial fort species with combined relative cover <br />not to be greater than 75 percent. H-G Mine has submitted an application for a <br />technical revision of the permit to modify this standard. <br />6.0 RECLAMATION SUCCESS EVALUATION <br />The following sections will evahiate success of reclamadon on the study azeas <br />based on the 1996 reclaimed and reference azea sampling data. This data is shown in <br />Table 7. The data collected from the 1996 study indicates that the reclaimed area has <br />cover and production values greaser than that of the weighted averages for the <br />reference areas. Therefore, the specific reclamation standards for cover and production <br />were met. The 1995 CDMG Bond Release Guideline was used as the source of <br />statistical equations and evaluations. Seeding of this area occurred from 1979 to <br />1987. The seed mixtures and Pure Live Seed (PLS) per acre used were submitted <br />previously in H-G Mine annual reports. <br />6.1 R I imed ,ire? Ma_n_aggment and Diversity <br />The postmining land use of the reclaimed study azea will be livestock grazing <br />and wildlife habitat. Wildlife have been allowed unrestricted use of this area <br />throughout the reclamation process. Wildlife such as elk, deer, and sharp-tail grouse <br />frequent this area almost year-round.
