Aonroval of RN-01/PR-02 <br />The Division found the submittal for 1L~1-O1/PR-02 complete on March 2, 1987 and sent <br />_,:_:,,:acy questions to Trapper on April 30, 1987. Trapper responded to those comments with <br />two sets of responses received by the Division on August 24 and September 1, 1937; revised <br />post-mining topography maps were received on October 9, 1987. The Division sent Trapper <br />follow-up adequacy questions on November 12, 1987 and received responses from Trapper on <br />December l 1, 1987. Additional exchanges of comments and responses continued into April <br />1988. RN-O1/PR-02 was approved on April 8, 1988, effective December 31, 1987. <br />RrN-0~lRN-03 <br />The second renewal of permit C-81-O10 began with the Division notifying Trapper Mining Inc. <br />on Mazch 9, 1992 that its permit would expire on December 31, 1992. The Division received an <br />application from Trapper for RN-02/PR-03 on July 1, 1992 and found it complete on July 7, <br />1992. The application was for another 5-yeaz term and mainly addressed new pits and further <br />advancement of pits within the permit azea. An additional 1,562 acres were to be disturbed. The <br />Division sent its preliminary adequacy review questions and comments to the Trapper on August <br />31, 1992 and received responses on October 23, 1992. The Division submitted follow-up <br />questions to Trapper on November 10, 1992 and Trapper responded on Jantuazy 12, 1992. The <br />follow-up questions dealt mainly with the Flume Gulch drainage which was designated an <br />"alluvial valley floor" in the findings document for RN-02/PR-03. The Division approved PR-03 <br />on January 19, 1993 and RN-02 on January 21, 1993 with an effective date of December 31, <br />1992. <br />RN-03/PR-04 <br />The current permit renewaUrevision process began with the Division notifying Trapper Mining <br />Inc. on March 31, 1997 that its permit would expire on December 31, 1997, and to ensure the <br />successive right to renewal, a complete application for permit renewal must be received by the <br />Division by July 4, 1997. The Division received the RN-03/PR-04 application from Trapper on <br />June 17, 1997 and found it complete on June 20, 1997. The application was for another 5-yeaz <br />term and called for operations to continue generally as they have in, the past with the pits <br />advancing eastward within the permit azea and disturbing an additional 1,02 acres. The <br />Division sent preliminary adequacy review questions to Trapper on August 2l, 1997, and sent <br />two additional questions on October 6, 1997. Responses to all of the Division's questions were <br />received by the Division on December 17, 1997. The Division then sent two follow-up questions <br />to the operator February 20, 1998 and received responses to those questions on Mazch 16, 1998. <br />Trapper Mine S Mal 13, 1998 <br />
