2.03 Inplant General it amplino
General air sampling to determine airborne uranium and radium-226
concentrations in the licensed facilities was conducted in
accordance with License Condition 13.4.7.1, Radiological Health and
Safety Procedure 2-7, and License Amendment 1s4.
Routine sampling under RHbS Procedure 2-7 is conducted on a monthly
basis at the drum filter in the ore sorter and on a quarterly basis
at the two locations at the water treatment plant. A fourth sample
location, designated NDF, has been added to monitor airborne
concentrations in the immediate vicinity of the new drum. filter
system located at the wastewater treatment facility. The NDF
location will be monitored routinely during drum filter operation.
The Procedure 2-7 revision will be submitted with the rest of tha
RH6S Procedure revisions.
Airborne concentrations at the four sampling locations for the
reporting period are presented on the following pagan. The NDF
location was sampled once in the first quarter of 1993 during a
trial run period far the new drum filter. The new drum filter has
not operated since the first quarter of 1993 pending a rebuild of
the deep-bed pressure filters in the wastewater treatment plant.
Sample results at all locations are less than 1.0$ MPG. The only
identifiable trends can be attributed to seasonal fluctuations
linked to increased building tightness during cold weather.
