Rapt. c! l;aiur~i isaso!~rce=
In cooperation with Julian Mitchell, the mine superintendent, a
decision was made that for our initial step in curbing coal spillage
would be a firm warning to the loader operators. Bach loader operator
was again personally contacted subsequent to your last inspection
concerning overloading trucks, using coal as agrigate on slick roads
and dumping coal from [he bucket in places other than the ].oadout and
stockpile areas. This verbal warning was followed up by the atl'ached
notices, posted in conspicious places for the loader operators to see.
These warnings have been sucessful to date and we feel they will remain
effective with occasional reminders from the superintendent and myself.
Please keep us posted on your evaluation of the situation [o determ7ne
if further spill prevention methods must be developed.
Yours truly,
i i7. ~~:
Larry `4. t~c~chka
.`iiae I•:aRlaeor
L:tR: me
encl.
