Kashinski ~, /~ ;
Field Solicitor, Denver ;.~"~ _~~L:-; _._,~./".
SUBJECT: Foidel Creek Mine; Mining Plan Decision Package, as
Modified; Routt County, Colorado; Federal Coal Lease
No. COC 53560
This office has reviewed the decision package for the proposed
decision on a new mining plan for 537 acres at Twentymile Coal
Company's Foidel Creek Mine in Routt County, Colorado.
This mining plan supplements the Foidel Creek Mine mining plan
for Federal Lease Nos. C-20900, C-0128433, C-018330, C-16284, and
D-052547, approved on January 16, 1987. Approval of this mining
plan will authorize mining of about 3.6 million tons of Federal
coal within 537 acres of Federal Lease No. COC 53560, increasing
the number of approved mining plan acres to 3,660 for all leases.
The decision package includes proposed memoranda from the
Assistant Director, Western Support Center, Office of Surface
Mining Reclamation and Enforcement (OSM), to the Director of
OSM, and from the Director to the Assistant Secretary, Land and
Minerals Management, which recommend approval of the mining plan
modification.
We find that any issues raised during review of the decision
package have been resolved and that approval of the mining plan
modification is consistent with applicable law.
c~
_ r:
_ L•x -~
'7
•- - i
