Vegetative Cover
Post-mining success of species diversity will be determined by comparing the relative cover values
of the reclaimed azea with the values ascertained within the reference area vegetation community.
Species diversity will be deemed adequate if the sampling results show progression toward the
permit requirement that reclaimed rangeland consist of aminimum oftwocool-season grasses, two
warm-season grasses, and one forb species. These species shall each comprise at least 5 percent and
no more than 60 percent relative cover, and shall consist of perennial non-noxious species. There
is no cover requirement for shrub species, but a shrub component of up to 5 percent is allowed.
' Basin will submit an application for Phase II bond release in the fall of 2000.
We aze planning to initiate sampling on June 19, 2000.
