Mr. Murari Shrestha
-2-

Project No. CS-142-02 (original plus Amendment No. 1)
The following 16 drill sites comprise this project:
Original sites (3):
Sec. 2, T2N, R101W: 21012-19
Sec. 34, T3N, R101W: 310134-10
Sec. 35, T3N, R101W: 310135-8
Amendment No. 1 Sites (13):
Sec. 1, T2N, R101W: 21011-9, 21011-10, 21011-11, 21011-12, 21011-13,
21011-14, 21011-15, 21011-16, and 21011-17
Sec. 36, T3N, R101W: 310136-5, 310136-6, 310136-7, and 310136-8
Drilling activities occurred during 1985 and 1986, and the abandonment
report was submitted on January 27, 1987. The Division inspected the
sites on April 30, 1987 and determined that all required drill site
regrading, topsoil redistribution, and drill hole sealing work had been
successfully completed. New plant growth was evident on all revegetated
areas, however percent plant cover on most sites did not appear to meet
the requirements for successful revegetation. It appears that it will
take at least one or two more growing seasons for the vegetation to meet
required performance standards. The drill sites were seeded in the fall
of 1986. As such, the Division is recommending only partial release of
the bond for this project at the present time and will retain E3,800.00
(16 sites x E300.00 per site) until revegetation is deemed successful.
4. Pro.iect No. CX-142-03
The following 7 drill sites comprise this project:
Sec. 1, T2N, R101W: 21011-8
Sec. 6, T2N, R100W: 21006-1, 21006-2, 21006-3
Sec. 31, T3N, R100W: 310031-1
Sec. 36, T3N, R101W: 310136-3, 310136-4
Drilling activities occurred during 1985, and the abandonment report was
submitted on January 27, 1987 along with the report for drilling project
no. CX-142-02. The Division inspected the sites on April 30, 1987 and
determined that all required drill site regrading, topsoil
redistribution, and drill hole sealing work had been successfully
completed. Plant growth appeared to be progressing well considering that
this is only the second growing season for revegetated areas, however not
all sites appeared to meet the requirements for successful revegetation.
It appears that it will take at least one more growing season for the
vegetation to meet required performance standards. As such, the Division
is recommending only partial release of the bond for this project at the
present time and will retain 52,100.00(7 sites x E300.00 per site) until
revegetation is deemed successful.
