This testing demonstrates that the granite
proposed for use is comprised of anon-slaking type material, however the durability of this
material is questionable based on the results of testing in the Los Angeles Abrasion Machine.
This testing resulted in 47.7 percent loss in weight from the sample. The Division will not
accept underdrain materials that lose more than 40 percent by weight during the L. A. test.
The operator has to meet this minimum requirement before the Division can give written
approval to use this material.
M: \OSS\amm\memoac s. bk
