This gate is approximately 50 feet
from the main entrance of the BLM property at County Roads 21 and F in
Montezuma County.
You asked me to put my concerns in writing. It is my understanding that the
agreement with BLM was that the public would have access to this public land.
It was also my understanding that Mr. Stone was to only fence a limited
number of acres at one time and that this is where an access gate could be
installed.
I believe that this stipulation and agreement with the BLM was rolled into the
permit. Yow attention to this matter would be greatly appreciated as it
appears that Mr. Stone is already in violation of his permit.
Sincerely yours,
Susan Campbell Bell
Secretary/Treasurer
Friends of South Montezuma Valley, Inc.
6150 County Road 21
Cortez, CO 81321
970-565-7916
cc: Calvin Joyner, Area Manager, BLM
Mike Long, State Director, CoDMG
