The proposal was
submitted by Golder Associates, Inc. (aef, No. 953.2900.007, Juty 14,1995), end calls
for CombiMng materai from the Canton Tailings and processed crushed rock from Pad
No. 2.
Based on the analysis conducted by Golder Associates, Ina, it appears that the
material and recommended method of placement would be suitable for the
embankment fill. Althotph the pore water pressure generated by the fill should not
pose a problem, we concur with Gilder Associates that a monftaring system would qa
beneflcisl in verifying the stability of the embankment during construction. The
proposed method of utilizing piezometers is consistent with this type of monitoring
program.
If you have any questions regarding these comments, please feel free to oontad ms.
Reviewed BY Shan-Tai Yeh
cc: R.
