The population is interrelated throughout <br />the area, so it makes sense to treat it as an entity. Flatiron, <br />Energy Fuels and Wyoming Fuels all have strutting grounds near <br />their sites. A good deal of background data on the sage grouse <br />here have been gathered. Mr. Braun believes that mining and <br />sage grouse can co-exist. The goal of the Division of Wildlife <br />is to maintain the same numbers of sage grouse as currently in- <br />habit the area. Currently 1000 to 1300 hunters use North Park. <br />Mr. Braun proposes a 3 to 5 year study applying ammonium <br />nitrate to fertilize the sage brush. Len Carpenter has had 12 <br />years experience using fertilizer to increase sage brush production. <br />The Division of Wildlife knows what fertilization will do to the <br />
