Long

RE:
Kaiser Resources, CCM# 1, C-81-024. Division Direanr
I phone talked with Jerry Koblitz today. Jerry Koblitz, Greystone 850-0930, is consultant
for Kaiser Resources at CCM#1. We discussed revegetation, garbage dumped, and
utility poles at CCM#1.
Revegetation
Jerry stated that Kaiser was considering importing topsoil to cover the three bare
spots and reseeding. I questioned whether topsoil and reseeding would reinitiate
the 10-year clock, even though the three bare areas were relatively small. He
didn't like the idea of reinitiating the reclamation clock. I tactfully bailed out and
stated that with your superior experience and background in veg, you could
provide correct answer for DMG policy questions.
Garbage dumped within permit area
Jerry stated that Kaiser was planning on sending someone out to look into
removal of the garbage dumped within the arroyo on north side of road. I
requested that DMG be informed about garbage removal so we can ensure paper
trail reflects that garbage was removed... just in case more garbage gets dumped
later.
Utility poles
Jerry stated that remaining utility poles within the permit area were property of
utility company and Kaiser could not remove. Jerry stated that utility company
had stated in writing that remaining poles were to remain for future utilities
expansion. Jerry suggested that a copy of that letter had been sent previously to
DMG. Jerry stated that he would sent another copy of utility letter to DMG.
Mr. Jerry Koblitz
Greystone
5990 Greenwood Plaza Blvd., Suite 250
Englewood, CO 80111
