Rindahl
231 Columbine Building
1845 Sherman Street
Denver, Colorado 80203
Dear Mr. Rindahl:
• %~
/'~~r~
~~-~
Thank you for your reply to my questions on two mining operations
near Durango. The mailing address for Animas Aggregates is P.O. Box
1447, Durango, Colorado 81301.
However, the application for a permit by Burnett Construction to
which you referred is in a different location. They have another pit
on Trimble Lane which is located on the Animas River, approximately
9 miles north of Durango. This is the other pit for which I would like
to know if there is an application for a permit.
The two pits discussed in your letter are adjacent pits. Upon
sight inspection with the Animas Regional Planner, Lynn Vandegr:ift,
we felt that there is insufficient banking area between the river and
ponding locations. I am sure that your personnel will make an :in-depth
inspection, but we felt that this should be brought out immediately,
since the high water season is quickly approaching.
Thanks again for all your help in this matter.
Si~ y/
( a
Paul Canatsey
La Plata County Engineer
PC: zms
