OF NATURAL RESOURCES <br />Re: Bonanza Power Project <br />Deserado Mine: Permit No. CO-0038 <br />Mitigation Plan for Cultural Resources <br /> <br />Dear Mr, Klein: <br />Pursuant to OSAt stipulation No. 4 and I2 stilat,ic~L <br />No. 31, this letter provides a mitigation plan for those <br />cultural resource sites examined for eligibility for the <br />National Register of Historic Places by the Colorado State <br />Historic Preservation Office. <br />Eligible Sites <br />`SRB 4 , <br />5RB 07 <br />5RB 1082, <br />~C rCA~ r J L+C' T ~ l <br />5RB 532, 5RB 855 <br />5RB 22, SRB 1012, <br />and 14 <br />SRB 858 SRB 85 ~~RB 902 <br />SRB 029, SRB 1055, SRB 5 , <br />1) Western Fuels-Utah, Inc.'s construction and operations <br />regulatory compliance handbook states that off-road <br />vehicle travel is prohibited within the permit area <br />by all project personnel including contractors and <br />Western Fuels-Utah employees. <br />2) Starting in first quarter 1985, periodic field recon- <br />naissance will be conducted to determine if surface <br />subsidence has affected any of the above referenced <br />cultural resource sites caused by longwall mining. <br />In the event 'o f. .t he identification of alternations <br />at these sites, appropriate regulatory authorities <br />will be notified by Western Fuels-Utah. <br />
