Green Croissant Project (Corps File # 200180205) ~..ae ; ~y,,,.~.~,~~o-c:trrr~, Dear Tim: Enclosed is the individual permit application form and supplemental information for the Green and Croissant Project in Weld County, Colorado. The project is an aggregate mining operation on the primary terrace of the Big Thompson River. The jurisdictional wetland delineation has been previously reviewed and accepted by your office in July 2000, with a subsequent concurrence on the isolated and nonyurisdictional nature of a portion of the wetlands in August 2001. On the project site there are 15.90 acres of jurisdictional wetlands, of which 5.44 acres are proposed for disturbance by mining operations. This amount of disturbance represents the greatest acreage of wetland avoidance economically feasible for the project. As mitigation for disturbance to these oxbow channel wetlands, we propose to create 3.50 acres of relocated oxbow channel wetlands on the project site, and 3.55 acres of wet meadow wetlands on the project site. There are no issues with threatened or endangered species on the project site. A Ute ladies'-tresses orchid survey was conducted in 2001 and no orchids were encountered. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service concurred that no Preble's meadow jumping mouse habitat was present on the project site. There are no cuhural or historic resources on the site. Loveland Ready Mix Concrete, Inc. has secured applicable permits from Weld County, the Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology, the Colorado Division of Water Resources, and the Colorado Department of Public Heahh and Environment.
