Michael B. Long, letter
March 16, 1994
Page 2
will have no effect whatsoever on Basin's ability to determine
their coal reserves or plan their mining process.
4.. Raton West will have no objection to Basin parking drilling
rigs at the side of existing roads to conduct exploratory
drilling so long as drill holes are reclaimed upon completion
of drilling.
5. Basin has no legal right to use any access routes across
Rancho Escondido in order to access drill hole locations
located on other property. Nevertheless, Raton West will
consider waiving this objection, on a specific case-by-case
basis, if agreement can be reached with Basin limiting drill
rig access to existing roads in the Rancho Escondido area.
Raton West requests party status in the proceeding concerning
Technical Revision 28, requests a formal hearing on the matter and
endorses its Exhibits 1 - 35 as previously endorsed in proceedings
relative to Permit C-81-013.
Please do not hesitate to let. me know in the event there may
be additional information that Raton West can provide to Che
Division in this regard.
Very truly yours,
KRASSA, LINDHOLM, KUMLI AND MADSEN
By
Robert F.
