iii iiiiiiiiiiiii iii <br />Berry, David 999 <br />From: Mathews, Dan <br />Sent: Monday, July 16, 2001 9:15 AM <br />To: Berry, David <br />Cc: Stark, Jim <br />Subject: asbestos <br />I'm working in the office this morning, heading out this afternoon for the rest of the week (in Denver for assessment conf <br />and meeting on Friday) Anyway, I talked to Bob Jihaunis of DOH again this morning, He now says there was some <br />confusion from the consultant's report, but that they have verified that the consultant's sampling did not indicate the <br />presence of asbestos in any of the buildings, and DOH has now approved the demolition permit, based on that report. So, <br />per DOH there is no concern regarding asbestos at Roadside. Apparently, the confusion resulted from the fact that the <br />consultant originally had included a CYA statement in his report, that he could not rule out the presence of asbestos. But it <br />turns out that he always puts that statement in his reports, even when his sampling and testing comes up negative. <br />
