The revision
reflects an alteration in the timing of installing the Parshall Flumes
and recorders on the creeks.
Powderhorn Coal Company requests an extension of the CMLRD compliance
date in Stipulation No. 4, March 7, 1983, for installation and oper-
ation of the monitoring system until nine weeks after CMLRD approval.
The request is necessary and prudent as Powderhorn has not as yet
received approval on the plan from the CMLRD. From our standpoint, the
timing for approval is expected within the next few days.
The equipment used in monitoring flows in the creeks is not expected
to arrive at Powderhorn of from six to eight weeks after order place-
ment. The equipment cannot be ordered until the CMLRD has approved
the sizing of flumes and the recording equipment necessary to monitor
the flows.
If you or your staff have any questions in granting approval to Powder-
horn on either the surface water monitoring plan or the request for a
compliance date extension, please notify us.
Si e
Henry A.
