At the time of the sampling (July-August, 1983)
revegetation was successful in terms of exceeding baseline values for
herbaceous cover and production at both sites. Noady plants at both sites
were in evidence, but not at levels approximating pre-mining. Both sites were
Initially seeded in 1979 with additional yearly seeding occurring on areas of
low cover.
Salt Creek Mining requested that revegetation monitoring be suspended until
further disturbance occurs. Based on the fact that revegetation undertaken at
the sites to date has been temporary in nature and will be modified by future
activities, the Division hereby suspends the requirement for further
revegetation monitoring at these sites until permanent revegetation occurs on
any area at either site.
If you have any questions, please call.
S1 cerely,
Jim erron
Reclamation Specialist
JH/ep
Doc.
