Banta,
Division Director
In response to your letter dated June 28, 1991, the Division is currently
processing two major permitting actions at Pittsburg and Midway's Edna
Mine. The first is the renewal of the valid, existing permit, which expires
on November 16, 1991. The second is Permit Revision No. 2, which proposes
new methods of surface water control in the mined-out West Ridge area.
Neither of these actions proposes any new areas of disturbance, therefore,
no cultural resource survey should be necessary.
Please contact me if you need further clarification.
Sincerely,
William B.
