°' Mr. Edward ~Slschott
Page 4
~ ,luly 16, 1987
defined the baseline conditions which exist in this area prior to storing
~ - any decanted mill water In the Hazel A. edit.
3. During the last four days, Gold Hill Ventures has completed the
excavation of the permanent diversion ditch that will be used to protect
the tailing9 pond from water runoff from the pcecipitetion catchment
area above the tailings Impoundment structure. This water runoff diver-
aion ditch was constructed according to the design submitted to Gold HiU
Ventures by Ted Zorich and Associates, Inc., of Englewood, Colorado.
I am attaching construction certifications by qualified profes-
sionals associated with the Denvec Engineering Corporation of Golden,
Colorado, for the callings Impoundment structure, the installation of the
geomembrane liner, and the bulkhead in the Hazel A. edit. The construo-
lion certification of M r. Ted Zorich for the water runoff diversion ditch
is also attached to this letter.
Since your site inspection with Mr. David Berry on April 28, 1987,
Gold Hlll Ventures has made considerable progress in cleaning up and
restoring the area surrounding the millsite that was disturbed during the
construction of our facility. In addition, a berm has been built along the
downstream perimeter of the tailings embankment dam, and rocks are
being used to prevent further gully erosion resulting from bench level
water runoff.
If you or your scat[ have any questions or suggestions regarding
the contents of this letter end attachments, please contact me at the
Gold Hlll Mill or my office in Longmont.
Sincerely,
~~
Vlark A. Steen
Por Gold H1ll Ventures
IN AS/rgi
Enclosures
