Bischoff Minerals Supervisor Mined Land Reclamation Division 423 Centennial Building 1313 Sherman Street Denver, Colorado 80203 RE: CASH MINE, Flle M-83-141 Dear Mr. Bischoff: This letter is being submitted to the Mined Land Reclamation Division in accordance with the Amendment Conditions attached to the ~, Cash Mine Llmlted Impact permit approved on September 28, 1985, by the Mined Land Reclamat[on Board. 1. The initial tailings impoundment storage area occupies a rectan- gular shaped Brea that has the dimensions of 275 feet by 100 feet at its longest and widest points. The toe of the tailings dam extends for 330 feet along its outer face from the northeastern edge to the southwestern edge of the structure. A revised Millslte and Tailings Pond Reclamation Plan ;Nap that reflects these changes will be submitted to the Mined Land Reclamation Division. Following the completion of the fallings dam construction earth work, the following sequence of geomemDrane liner installation was followed: 1. All sharp rocks, large stones, roots, vegetation, and other foreign material were removed from the Interior of the fallings impoundment erea. 2. All of the remaining surface irregularities were smoothed out and a layer of compacted decomposed granite was placed on the bottom and sides of the tailings retention structure. 3. An anchor trench 24 inches wide by 38 inches deep was dug with a backhoe around the inner perimeter o[ the tailings dam to hold the edge of the geomembrane liner. This trench was dug a ~- minimum of at least 1 foot from the interior slope of the tailings impounding erea. i
