Long
Division Director
Subsequent to our December 5th phone conversation, I reviewed the Hawkeye Mine file and verified
that the record indicates the Hawkeye has not been active since permitting. Therefore, please
disregard the Division's letter dated November 22, 1996, as a mine that has never been activated does
not meet the definition of an operation in temporary cessation and is not required to submit a notice
of temporary cessation.
If you have questions or need additional information, please contact me at our Durango Field Office,
484 Turner Drive, Building F, Room 101, Durango, Colorado 81301, phone no.
