T.lON., R.92W., 6th P.M.
Section 2: SE1/4
In the land identified above, the following problems were identified:
1. Approximately 5 large pits remain open and should be backfilled
and reclaimed to the standards required under 43 CFR 3809.1-3 (d).
2. Topsoil was not segregated from overburden material on all pits.
3. Water well casing is open and not sealed around the casing.
4. Previous disturbance in this area has not been seeded.
The pits identified in T.9N. , R.92W., represent a serious hazard to
livestock and the public due to their depth (8 - 10 ft.) and width (3
ft.). We recommend immediate action be taken to require the operator to
backfill these specific pits.
If you have any questions regarding these problem areas, feel free to
contact Steve Bennett of this office (303-824-4441).
We appreciate your cooperation.
Sincerely,
Roy S. Jackson
Area Manager
